According to The Telegraph, Guardiola's decision regarding his City future remains unchanged, despite the news that Txiki Begiristain will depart at the end of the season.
The director of football, who has been an important figure at the Etihad Stadium since 2012, has announced he will be leaving the club in 2025.
Despite this, Guardiola is reportedly set to make a decision over his future in England independently from Begiristain's.
The 60-year-old has been integral to the club's success, having worked alongside Guardiola during their successful stint at Barcelona before reuniting in England.
Guardiola has consistently praised his close friend, having often emphasised his pivotal role in City's achievements.
"Txiki has been massively important at this club. He's stable and a key part of our success," he previously stated, as per the Mirror.
City are reportedly preparing for Begiristain's replacement, ensuring a smooth transition with a six-month handover period.
With Guardiola's contract also expiring at the end of the season, speculation mounts regarding his future. After nearly nine successful years at City, he has hinted that this could be his final season.
