Spanish tactician Pep Guardiola has seemingly confirmed Manchester City's first departure ahead of the 2021/22 season, saying the player will join FC Barcelona.

Eric Garcia has not played much football this season for the Citizens, perhaps because he already has one foot out the door.
For a long time, reports have suggested he has an agreement with Barcelona regarding a transfer, with his contract in England expiring at the end of the current campaign.
The centre-back, therefore, seems likely to join the Spanish giants as a free agent, which has now seemingly been confirmed by Guardiola.
"Eric Garcia is like a son. He was a guy last season that after lockdown was our best central defender. He never made a mistake and played in the quarter-final of the Champions League," he said, according to Goal.

"He's going to play in Barcelona and that is not an average player – he is a top player. He was not selected in the last two games and it broke my heart.
"That is why it is difficult for all the managers when you have a squad. You cannot imagine what it means."
The 20-year-old, who has featured just nine times for City across all competitions this season, joined the Manchester club's youth academy from Barcelona's in 2017.

Garcia has made 32 appearances for the Citizens' senior side since, and has also earned four senior international caps with Spain.
