The Gunners began the new EPL campaign with a 2-0 loss to newly promoted Brentford last Friday evening.
Manager Mikel Arteta faced some criticism after the defeat, along with new signing Ben White, but former Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara felt only two players showed up on the night.
"There are two players in that team that deserve to wear an Arsenal shirt," O'Hara told talkSPORT.
"That was Kieran Tierney and (Emile) Smith Rowe. The rest of them do not deserve to be wearing an Arsenal shirt – they are miles off it.
"No desire, no leaders. I'm never seen an Arsenal team with such a lack of leadership qualities, it was embarrassing."
It doesn't get any easier for the Gunners this weekend as they take on European champions Chelsea, who are set to welcome new signing Romelu Lukaku into the side.
