Mino Raiola: Paul Pogba's Agent On Sir Alex Ferguson's Criticism

Mino Raiola: Paul Pogba's Agent On Sir Alex Ferguson's Criticism

With legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson once dubbing Mino Raiola as his least favourite person in football, the super-agent has now revealed why he took that comment as a compliment.

The Dutch-Italian agent's relationship with the Red Devils, and more specifically Ferguson, fell apart in 2012 amid Pogba's contract negotiations, which saw the Frenchman eventually joining Juventus as a free agent.

Ferguson, after dealing with Raiola, said the agent was the worst individual he had encountered in football, although those remarks did not appear to affect the man who, today, represents some of the biggest players in the world.

Speaking recently about the incident, the 53-year-old claimed he was flattered by Ferguson's comments and feels he might have been one of the few people to stand up to the Scotsman.

"Ferguson is used to people coming in and, 'Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir.'

"All I have to say that when Ferguson left Manchester United, the club's owner (the Glazers), by buying back Paul Pogba, told me that I was right.

"Because I didn't want to take Paul Pogba away. He (Ferguson) didn't believe in Paul Pogba."

Pogba, who returned to United in 2016 for a club-record transfer fee, is linked with a move away from the club ahead of next season, with Juve among the teams reportedly interested in securing his signature.
