Manchester City's Phil Foden Was Involved In A Fight

A video has emerged on social media seemingly showing a Manchester City star being implicated in a brawl that ensued during a boxing match on Saturday night.

Phil Foden was in attendance for Kell Brook's victory over Amir Khan at the Manchester Arena before reportedly being embroiled in a fight of his own in the venue's corridors.

Visuals circulating on social media show the attacking midfielder reacting to an altercation between a group of unknown men and his family after Brook's sixth-round victory.

City have since released a statement condemning the events that transpired.

"The club is aware of a video which has circulated on social media showing Phil Foden and his family being harassed and abused," the statement sent to Sky Sports read.

"We are shocked and appalled about the nature of the abuse and ensuing assault on one of Phil's family members. We will continue to give Phil and his family all the support and assistance they need."

The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has also released a statement regarding their investigation into the matter.

"GMP are aware of a video circulating on social media showing a disturbance at the AO arena last night (19 February 2022). We are conducting some further enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident," the statement read.

Foden had reportedly attended the fight with his family following City's 3-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium, in which he played the full 90 minutes.
