The reigning league champions are said to be planning to swoop for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.
According to Football Insider, Guardiola is behind the idea of bringing the 21-year-old forward back to the Etihad Stadium.
Delap joined City's academy from Derby County in 2019 and made six senior appearances for the club, under Guardiola, before completing a permanent switch to Ipswich earlier this year.
With six goals this season so far in the Premier League, Delap has looked right at home playing in England's top division.
The Citizens are said to be "keeping tabs" on Delap's impressive form, with Transfermarkt valuing him at just €15 million (R285.4 million).
Three consecutive league defeats has seen City fall eight points behind table-toppers Liverpool, who they will meet at Anfield this coming weekend.
