The England international reportedly agreed to the television interview without his club's permission, where he revealed that he needs time to think about his future, after it was said that he rejected a £100,000-a-week deal.
"I just want to take the time to think about what I've achieved in my career so far, where I need to go and what I need to do to get better as a player," he told the BBC.
"I think they just see it as this 20-year-old boy being greedy."
Raheem Sterling said in the interview that it's never been about the money for him, saying that all he wants is a big trophy cabinet.
"It's not about the money at all," he added.
"It's never been about money.
"I talk about winning trophies throughout my career. That's all I talk about.
"I don't talk about how many cars I'm going to drive, how many houses I've got. I just purely want to be the best I can be."
The 21-year-old has attracted interest from big clubs all over Europe with his ability, but now that he's hinting at an exit, offers may be put on the table for Liverpool's starlet.
Sterling has played 28 league games this season for the Merseyside club, scoring six goals and assisting seven.
