The Premier League champions have endured a rough patch, suffering five consecutive defeats across all competitions prior to Tuesday's UEFA Champions League encounter at the Etihad against Feyenoord.

Despite taking a commanding 3-0 lead, Guardiola's side were pegged back by the visitors, who fought their way to a 3-3 draw.

Guardiola appeared visibly frustrated after the match, with scratches on his face, as City's troubled start to the campaign continues to raise concerns.

The Spaniard now seems poised to act in the transfer market to shift the momentum of the season, which has been heading in the wrong direction.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, City are preparing to make three key signings, with the first target being midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

The 2024 UEFA European Championship winner turned down a move to Liverpool over the summer, opting to stay at Real Sociedad instead.

However, it is understood that City are willing to offer a substantial financial package to lure the 25-year-old to the Etihad and secure his signature.

With concerns over their attacking options, City are reportedly eyeing two players to strengthen their forward line, with both names now firmly on Guardiola's radar.

Maximiliano Araujo, who featured in Sporting CP's heavy 5-1 defeat to Arsenal last night, is being linked with a move to the Citizens.

The versatile winger, capable of playing on either flank, could prove to be a valuable addition, particularly with the recent struggles of both Savinho and Jeremy Doku.

However, it is the potential signing of Florian Wirtz that could make the biggest impact. The highly-rated German midfielder has long been a target for the Premier League giants, but Fichajes report that a deal for Wirtz could come at a hefty price.
