According to The Sun, the attacking midfielder's house was broken into in January during a Premier League match between the Red Devils and Aston Villa.
Lingard played just a few minutes in the 2-2 draw, and later found out that his home was burgled by robbers who reportedly stole more than £100 000 (R2 million) worth of clothes and jewellery.
As a result, the soon-to-be free agent has decided to leave his home and has put it on the market, with the report claiming it is worth around £3 million.
A source told the publication that Lingard was really upset to have been targetted by thieves, while it is claimed United will review the way in which they provide security to players.
The 29-year-old has played just 19 times for the struggling 20-time English champions, contributing to three goals in all competitions.
Defender Victor Lindelof saw his house entered by robbers in January in a similar crime, in which his wife and kids were said to be forced to lock themselves away.
