Arsenal are reportedly looking to add a number of attackers to their squad during the transfer window and have shortlisted as many as nine players who could potentially make their way to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners scored 13 goals fewer than this season’s Premier League winners, Liverpool, and while many in the football fraternity have insisted they need a striker to seriously contend for a major title, their manager appears to agree. According to The Athletic, the English giants are actively looking to strengthen in the striking department as well as out wide.
The central striker position seems to be the area of most concern for the North Londoners, with reports suggesting that the club’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, and head coach Mikel Arteta are focused on identifying a recognised out-and-out striker for the future.
The name at the top of their list is said to be Alexander Isak. The Swedish marksman has been prolific since joining Newcastle United, but with the Magpies likely to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League, it appears Arsenal may not have the necessary funds to sign the Solna native.
Instead, it is believed that they view Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko as more financially viable alternatives.

The same report claims that the Gunners also want to sign another wide player, though that will likely depend on one of their current wingers leaving. They have long been linked with Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and still retain that interest. However, it is also alleged that Arteta is a massive fan of out-of-favour Real Madrid star Rodrygo.
