The four-time African Player of the Year is one of the highest paid Premier League stars currently, reportedly pocketing £11.4 million (R198 million) a year.
According to the Daily Mail, statements from more than 90 years ago were found in a wooden box in a house in Staffordshire, England, revealing the massive difference in salary.
It has been claimed the average annual earning of a City player was just £450 (R7 800) back then, which calculates to £13 500 (R234 000) today based on inflation adjustment, and is around 847 times less than Toure's annual salary.
The club's overall wage bill for the 1924/25 season was £10 321 (R179 000), calculating to £309 320 (R5.4 million) today.
In comparison, City's wage bill for the 2015/16 campaign was a massive £196 million (R3.4 billion) – 633 times the amount from more than 90 years ago.

Back in 1924/25, City reportedly spent just £5 492 (R103 000) on transfers, while they forked out a massive £180 million (R3.1 billion) under Pep Guardiola this season.
