Pep Guardiola's men finished one point above title chasers Liverpool, which saw them pocket £38.4 million (R716 million) from the league's overall prize pool, according to the Daily Mirror.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds received £36.5 million (R681 million), while third-placed Chelsea earned £34.6 million (R645 million).
On average, Premier League teams roughly receive £2 million (R37 million) less than the team above them in the league table, which means United, who finished five spots below their crosstown rivals, pocketed just under £10 million (R186 million) less than City.
The Red Devils made £28.8 million (R537 million) in prize money, despite failing to qualify for UEFA Champions League football.
City's £38.4 million equates to R716 million, which is more than 70 times the R10 million PSL champions Sundowns received for beating Orlando Pirates to the title.
