Liverpool struck in the dying seconds of the game through an unlikely hero to claim a 1-0 win over Merseyside rivals Everton on Sunday evening.
The Reds,, who were looking for the third straight win in the Premier League, were quick to settle into the game early, taking the initiative to attack.
Sadio Mane almost sent the Reds ahead in the 13th minute after combining with Mohamed Salah inside the box, but his attempted lob over the Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford sailed over the bar.
Andre Gomes should have gave Marco Silva's charges the lead in the 21st minute following a pin-point cross from Bernard but he could not capitalise at the back post with a free header.
Xherdan Shaqiri came close to breaking the deadlock for the Reds ten minutes before the break after going through on goal but Pickford made a great save on a one-on-one situation.
The pace of the game was slowed down towards towards the end of the half and the sides went into the change rooms goalless.
After a quiet start to the second half, Mane came close again to breaking the deadlock for the hosts on the hour-mark with a curling strike from just outside the box that evaded the top corner by inches with Pickford scrambling.
Klopp made an interesting change 20 minutes before time, seemingly playing it safe by bringing on central midfielder Naby Keita for attacker Shaqiri.
The game needed some spark and the Reds withdrew Salah with a quarter of an hour remaining and brought in Daniel Sturridge in his place.
Divock Origi nearly snatched a late winner for Liverpool three minutes before time with a header on the far side that crashed against the back post.
Origi had another chance deep in stoppage time for Liverpool and snatched a dramatic winner after Pickford parried a long range strike from Virgil van Dijk into his path, 1-0.
