There was not much the keeper could do when Brighton failed to clear their lines and a lose ball in the box was put away by Nacho Monreal to give Arsenal a 1-0 lead.
Arsenal had a chance to double their lead on a counter from a Brighton corner saw the Gunners flooding the Brighton box with Aaron Ramsey eventually getting his shot away only to be saved by the foot of Ryan to keep the scores 1-0 at halftime.
The second half started much like the first ended and were on the ascendency. A great team move led to a brilliant back heel set up by Sanchez which was clinically converted by Iwobi to double Arsenal's lead.
Sanchez was in the mood and was causing havoc for the Brighton defense. The winger twisted his way into the box before his curling effort was desperately cleared off the line by the fingertips of Ryan.
The Gunners managed to comfortably hold on to their 2-0 lead and secured all three points at home.
