Manchester United legend and former Real Madrid star David Beckham has explained why he loved playing with Wayne Rooney.

In the documentary Rooney: The Man Behind The Goals, the former England captain said his former colleague would do anything for his teammates and the fans, highlighting his importance for the England national team.
"There are certain players you play with throughout your career who you like playing with for different reasons," he said.
"Wayne hits all those reasons.
"You knew that he'd run through a brick wall for you, for himself, for the team and for the fans.
"That's the type of the player you want playing for England."
Rooney and Beckham were teammates for England right up until the latter's retirement in 2010, after the former Everton wonderkid made his debut for his country in 2003.
Beckham left United for Real in 2003, and, one season later, a young Rooney signed for Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

Rooney has since played 490 times for United, and has scored 235 goals, while he's assisted a further 132 strikes.
