Despite the club spending a significant amount of money on new arrivals in January, the Blues recently announced major losses over the past financial year and will reportedly need to raise funds before the end of June.
According to The Times, the London giants are at risk of breaching the Premier League's financial rules and will be looking to act swiftly to not find themselves in legal trouble in the coming months.
This is likely to mean that a clearout is in order ahead of the end of the 2022/23 campaign, with several high-profile stars having found themselves down the pecking order since Chelsea's busy January.
Here are seven players who could leave Chelsea at the end of the season:
Academy graduate Mason Mount is among the group of players struggling to impress at the moment, form that has resulted in head coach Graham Potter deciding to overlook him in favour of Joao Felix.
Mount, 24, has been in discussions with Chelsea over a new deal for some time, but has reportedly been left frustrated by the club's lack of willingness to reach an agreement.
His current contract expires at the end of the 2023/24 season, with reports suggesting the Blues could be tempted to cash in on him amid interest from various clubs in England, including Liverpool.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Hakim Ziyech, two African stars, are likely to be moved on when Chelsea get the chance, with both having battled to work their way into Potter's plans.
Trevoh Chalobah, meanwhile, appears to have suffered after the arrivals of Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Kalidou Koulibaly, and could therefore be shipped out as part of the club's fund-raising process.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher and Christian Pulisic could also be made surplus to requirements, according to the Daily Mirror, as Chelsea look to get back to winning ways next term following what has been a poor season.
