Chelsea legend John Terry has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 37.

Terry spent last season at Championship outfit Aston Villa, but parted ways with the club after they failed to gain promotion to the Premier League.
The central defender was linked with a move to Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow, but the 37-year-old has now decided to hang up his boots after a 23-year career.
