The Spaniard left the Blaugrana before the beginning of last season after three years and six trophies with the club.
The former Arsenal midfielder has admitted he left because of the fans, who he believes eventually turned against him.
"I treated the people of Barcelona well," he told Marca.
"But, at the end, I realised that the majority of Barcelona fans didn't like me anymore, and so I had to make a step aside."
Fabregas made 151 appearances for Barcelona's senior team, scoring 42 goals and assisting a further 57 strikes.
The midfielder was a product of the famous La Masia academy, and grew up with the likes of Gerard Pique and Lionel Messi.
