Manchester United star Bastian Schweinsteiger has revealed the goals he has set for himself at the Old Trafford club.
Schweinsteiger Hits Back At Pep's Unfit Remarks
The German legend left Bayern Munich this summer on a three-year deal and made his debut for his new club against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening week of the campaign.
Schweinsteiger admits his arrival will not guarantee trophies, but insists he joined Old Trafford to add to his trophy collection.
"It's not like I can say: I have signed for three years, now we'll win three straight titles," he told the Daily Star.
"The Premier League is a very strong league. Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all have a high quality.
"But those who know me also know that I always want to win titles. And I think that Manchester United are a club which can win titles.
"I am convinced that it is possible to usher in a new era at Manchester United – especially under Louis van Gaal."
The German captain added that he didn't just move to Old Trafford because of Van Gaal, but more because of the status of the club.
"When you know how the coach ticks, and how he wants to play football, it makes the decision easier.
"But for the main part I came to England because of the club, Manchester United.
"That the coach fits well is, of course, ideal."
