Out-of-favour Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been offered a surprise transfer lifeline amid his high-profile struggles in England.
Chelsea 'Decide' Aubameyang's Fate After ElClasico Trip
Since returning to the Premier League at the start of the season, the former Gabon captain has made just 18 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals.
Following Chelsea's busy January window, in which the club welcomed eight new arrivals, Aubameyang was left out of the team's UEFA Champions League squad for the remainder of the campaign.
The 33-year-old joined the Blues from Barcelona after being successfully lured to London by then-manager Thomas Tuchel, who was sacked soon after Aubameyang's first appearance for the club.
According to Sport, however, the ex-Arsenal striker could soon have his future resolved amid new interest from the Catalan giants, who are said to be keen to re-sign him as back-up to Robert Lewandowski.
It is suggested that Chelsea would be willing to allow Aubameyang to rejoin the Spanish side on loan for the remainder of his contract, which expires at the end of next season.
The forward enjoyed some healthy form during his short stint at Barcelona in 2022, scoring 13 goals in 24 appearances.
