Arsenal star striker Gabriel Jesus has made a surprise statement about his goalscoring ability following Brazil's recent loss to arch-rivals Argentina.

For the first time ever, the Selecao lost a FIFA World Cup qualifier at home earlier this week, with the reigning world champions scoring in the 63rd minute through Nicolas Otamendi, whose goal proved to be the difference.
Jesus has subsequently come under scrutiny for his apparent struggle to score for his national team. The Sao Paulo native has played 64 matches for his national team but has found the back of the net only 19 times.
The former Manchester City man came under serious fire particularly after the 2018 World Cup, when the forward failed to score in the entire tournament, and five years later the multiple-time Premier League winner is still facing the same criticism.
Surprisingly, in a recent interview, the attacker admitted that while he may be a forward, putting the ball past goalkeepers may not be where he is at his strongest.
"I am a more mature man, more educated, a family man," he said.
"I understand football is a priority for me, and I know I need to be well to do my best, especially in the Brazilian team.
"There are things that I don't control. I train, I look for, I try, I move, I help the team.
"The goal is inevitable. I believe it's not my strong point, but I score goals and I'm there to score goals."

Jesus has not been particularly prolific for his club either this season, having scored only four times in 11 matches for Mikel Arteta's side, but was plagued by a couple of injuries at the start of the campaign.
