The MLS has boasted many household names since its inception 25 years ago, with David Beckham, who is now a franchise part-owner, arguably the biggest of the most high-profile footballer to have joined the division in the 21st century.
Beckham, co-owner of new MLS club Inter Miami, joined LA Galaxy from Real Madrid in 2007, spending five years in America before returning to Europe, where he would eventually retire with Paris Saint-Germain.
