The Argentine said his side are wary of threat that Los Blancos pose, suggesting that Carlo Ancelotti's team thrives under pressure.

"(I have) a lot of respect for Real," he told Canal +.

"They are a fantastic team, with amazing players and we have to be wary of them more than ever.

"It is at these moments when Real are stronger than ever.

"We will try to play our game and win the match."

The 27-year-old also spoke on the feeling in the Catalan club's camp, saying they are calm ahead of the clash – adding that he is personally enjoying their form.

"(I am expecting) a great game, at a good level," he added.

"We are calm, with important things coming up on the horizon.

"I feel good, enjoying the moment I find myself in, as the whole team are enjoying the football that we are playing."

Messi is the top-scorer of all-time in El Clasicos, with 21 goals, while this season he has been in great form - scoring 43 goals in 40 games in all competitions.
