FC Barcelona hero Lionel Messi has commented on his Man of the Match performance in the latest El Clasico.

The Argentine, who earlier in the match was on the end of a heavy knock by Marcelo that resulted in a bleeding mouth, grabbed the game by its horns.
He first equalised after Casemiro's opener and later scored the last-minute winner – his 500th goal in Barcelona colours.
"We went to the Bernabeu looking for a win to keep ourselves in the battle for the La Liga title," Messi wrote on Facebook.
"There's still a long way to go, but we came away with the joy of having taken an important step."
The 29-year-old helped his side leapfrog Real in the La Liga standings, with both rivals now sitting on 75 points, but Barca having the upper hand due to a better head-to-head record.

Los Blancos, though, still have a game in hand and could still reclaim the La Liga lead, and celebrate their first league title since the 2011/12 campaign.
