Poland's all-time top scorer Lewandowski netted the Bavarian giants' third and fifth goal in their 5-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach on the weekend, as Bayern moved level on points with table-toppers Borussia Dortmund.

Lewandowski netted his 194th and 195th goal in the Bundesliga to move level with Werder Bremen veteran forward Claudio Pizarro at the summit of the all-time top foreign goalscorers in Germany's top flight chart.

What makes the Pole's achievement even more impressive is that it took him 280 games to score 195 goals, while the Peruvian needed 465 games to achieve the same feat.

With Pizarro having made his professional debut in 1996 for Deportivo Pesquero in his native Peru, he quickly established himself as a reliable goalscorer and was snapped up by Bremen in 1999.

Since then, the 40-year-old has starred and scored close to 200 goals for the likes Bayern, FC Koln and Bremen. He also became the oldest goalscorer in Bundesliga history in February 2019, breaking the previous record held by Miroslav Votava.

Bayern legend Giovane Elber occupies third spot in the list with 133 goals in 260 matches for VfB Stuttgart, Bayern and Gladbach. It was the retired Brazilian striker who previously held the record for the foreigner with the most goals in the Bundesliga until he was surpassed by Pizarro in October 2010.
