Robert Lewandowski's Bayern Munich Exit Confirmed?

Robert Lewandowski's Bayern Munich Exit Confirmed?

Reports suggest that Robert Lewandowski could be on his way out of the Allianz Arena after an eight-year stint with Bayern Munich.

Guardiola Decides On Man City Future

According to Goal, Lewandowski will not renew his contract with the Bavarian giants.

His current deal runs until the end of next season, but following drawn-out negotiations, it now seems the Pole will call time on his illustrious career with Germany's most prestigious club.

The Bayern hierarchy were reportedly confident of keeping their striker beyond this campaign, with the club's CEO and former club captain Oliver Kahn adamant about retaining his services.

"We definitely have Robert with us for another season," the former Germany goalkeeper told Amazon Prime.

"We know what we have in him and we're relaxed about it. Apparently, there's a competition out there: 'Who will tell the biggest nonsense story about Robert Lewandowski?'

"Talks will continue. We're not crazy and are [not] discussing the transfer of a player who scores between 30 and 40 goals with us every season."

However, the day Die Roten secured their 10th consecutive Bundesliga title against Lewandowski's former club Borussia Dortmund, the forward had an opposing view regarding his status within the club.

"There will be a meeting soon, but nothing special has happened so far," the Poland national team captain told Sky Sports.

"I also notice what's going on. The situation is not that easy for me."

It was also reported earlier this week that Lewandowski was angered by the club's persistence in trying to sign Manchester City-bound Erling Haaland.

All these issues combined put Bayern in a precarious position as it now appears they will either lose their star player for free in 12 months' time or have to cash in on the 33-year-old within the next two transfer windows.

Strikers who consistently score 40 goals a season are a rarity in world football, and with Lewandowski being heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, Bayern's hopes of capturing titles on domestic and continental fronts may be dented should he leave.

Here are 10 players "confirmed" to be leaving their respective clubs at the end of the 2021/22 season:
