Robert Lewandowski's former agent has made the sensational claim that the Poland international wants to join Barcelona to prove to the world he is better than Karim Benzema.
It is widely known that the 33-year-old wishes to join the Blaugrana ahead of the 2022/23 season, after spending the past eight years at Bayern Munich following a 2014 switch from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
In several interviews over the past month, Lewandowski has been clear about his desire to play for Barcelona, and has publicly asked for the Bavarians to accept an approach from the Spanish giants.
According to his former agent Cezary Kucharski, the Pole is desperate to show that he is better than Real Madrid superstar Benzema, whom many feel is the favourite to win the 2022 Ballon d'Or award.
"He wants to prove that he is better than Benzema, it's another reason (he wants) to go to Barcelona," Kucharski told Radio Ser.
"Lewandowski has no dreams. For him, playing football is a job and he is very professional.
"Real Madrid and Barcelona are at the same level."
Lewandowski has scored 344 goals and assisted a further 72 strikes in 375 appearances for Bayern since his arrival in Munich, winning an incredible 19 trophies along the way.
