Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has reportedly been the culprit for refusing to take tactical instructions from head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
The story of Lewandowski's fallout with the Bavarian giants gains another chapter as the Pole's eight-year tenure with the club looks to almost certainly come to an end.
The player's desperation to leave the Allianz Arena has been well-publicised, and now more information regarding his apparent feud with the club has been revealed.
According to German outlet TZ, Nagelsmann and the striker clashed on the training ground last season.
It is claimed that, at one point, the manager told the forward what runs he wanted him to make when teammates crossed the ball in to him. However, this was reportedly rebuffed by an angry Lewandowski, who reminded the tactician that he had already scored 41 goals at the time.
While he finished the 2021/22 campaign with 50 goals in 46 games under Nagelsmann, Lewandowski had previously indicated his frustration over the German's tactics.
"It hasn't been easy for me at Bayern lately to find situations for a goal or a place on the field," he said in November.
"When you play offensive players and the opponents are very defensive, that's not easy for a striker."
Reports suggest that Lewandowski was at odds with Bayern again in December when the club advised him not to fly home for Christmas after picking up an ankle injury, out of concern that the low cabin pressure at cruise altitude would hamper his recovery.
However, the Poland international was reportedly desperate to spend time with his family so he rented a private jet and flew home anyway.
