With the Bundesliga well and truly underway, we took a look back at the nine South African players who have featured in the German top flight, including two former Kaizer Chiefs players.

There have been a few African stars who have been taking Germany by force in recent years, but it has been a while since a South African has graced the top flight.
One of the biggest South African exports to make a name for himself in Germany is Delron Buckley, who made his debut for VFL Bochum in 1995.
After registering 20 goals in 177 appearances, Buckley earned a move to Armina Bielefeld in the 2004/05 season, where his 15 goals helped the side beat relegation before he made the switch to Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund was also home to another Mzansi star after they signed Steven Pienaar from Ajax Amsterdam in 2006, although he only spent one season at the club before being loaned out to Everton.
However, it was Glenn Jordens who became the first South African to grace the Bundesliga stage after he helped SV Darmstadt secure promotion to the top flight in 1981 before he made eight appearances the following season, according to the league's official website.

Some of the other former South African stars include Sibusiso Zuma, Lance Davids and former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Rowan Fernandez.
