According to Sport Bild, after 23 years at the club, the veteran attacker is seriously considering leaving the Bavarian giants.
The Germany international has been on the periphery of the team for the past two Bundesliga matchdays, coming off the bench for the victories over Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen.
Couple that with the fact that he did not start against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final encounters, and Muller has reportedly become increasingly unhappy with his situation at the Allianz Arena.
While the versatile attacker is 33 years old, he is not yet considering retirement.
The Weilheim in Oberbayern native is also said to be frustrated with the lack of appreciation the club has shown him as he now has to prove his worth to a ninth consecutive manager.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner reportedly wants to continue playing at the highest level and competing for trophies, preferably outside of Germany.
He is believed to have rejected offers from Major League Soccer and Saudi Pro League teams as his preference is to stay in Europe.
While he does want to move abroad, perhaps out of respect for Die Roten, the same report claims that the two-time Champions League winner has not ruled out staying in the German top flight.

Muller is the latest star to be linked with a move away from Bayern, with the likes of Mane and Serge Gnabry also expected to be offloaded by the club at the end of the 2022/23 season.
