The Polish forward bagged as the Bavarians 2-2 with Hertha Berlin in the league's opening game on Friday night.
In doing so, Lewandowski became the first player in Bundesliga history to score in the opening for five straight seasons.
Lewandowski currently holds the record for most goals by a foreign player (202) in the German top flight, although he only sits five ahead of Claudio Pizarro, who signed a one-year extension with Werder Bremen.

The 30-year-old will also looking to defend the Golden Boot crown he won last season with 22 goals. He was the award in three of the last five seasons.
