Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka has explained his decision to snub Liverpool ahead of his move to the Bavarians.
The midfielder was linked with a transfer to the Reds back in 2018, but instead decided to remain in the Bundesliga, signing for Bayern from Schalke.
Speaking to The Athletic recently, Goretzka admitted he had considered a move to Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp having been an admirer of the box-to-box player.
"We're all a little proud of him winning the title. But I took a long time making my decision, and I was 100% sure that Bayern was the right move for me."
The 25-year-old was a crucial part of Bayern's dominant side last season, during which they stormed to a treble, winning the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and the UEFA Champions League titles.
