The club had been in talks with Sundowns over a deal for Thembinkosi Lorch, however reports in Morocco claim Wydad have pulled out due to the asking price.
The report adds that Wydad president Hicham Aït Menna has been convinced by the talent in South Africa following Lorch's exploits for the club this season, including his displays at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Mudau has established himself as one of the top full-backs on the African continent following his displays for Sundowns and Bafana Bafana in recent years.
