DFB Pokal Wrap 29 October 2019

Bayern Munich staged a late come back to overcome a ten-man Vfl Bochum 2-1 in the DFB Pokal Cup second round on Tuesday evening.

An own-goal from youngster Anthony Davies had the hosts ahead after 36 minutes. Whilst a victory looked certain, Bayern responded through Serge Gnabry on 83 minutes before Thomas Muller netted the winner in the final minute of the match.

Hoffenheim claimed a 2-0 away victory over second-tier outfit MSV Duisburg at the MSV Arena.

Florian Grillitsch found the opener eight minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute, while The clincher arrived five minutes later courtesy of Sargis Adamyan.

Schalke registered an incredible 3-2 victory over Arminia Bielefeld to progress to the next phase of the competition at the Bielefelder Alm.

Alessandro Schopf put Schalke ahead on 15 minutes while a double from Benito Raman five minutes of each other granted the visitors a healthy lead at the break.

Arminia attempted a comeback through Fabian Klos on 72 minutes and Cebio Soukou five minutes later, but the visitors landed victory in the end.

Bayer Leverkusen marched into the quarter-finals with a slender 1-0 victory over Paderborn at the BayArena.

Lucas Alario grabbed the all-important strike after 25 minutes, finishing off from close range following good work around the area.

VfB Stuttgart ensured progression to the quarter-finals after a 2-1 win in extra time over Hamburg SV at the Volksparkstadion

Stuttgart were ahead inside two minutes through Nicolas Gonzalez. Adam Hunt levelled from the spot 14 minutes later before Hamadi Al Ghaddioui netted the winner on 113 minutes of additional time.
