Bayern Munich began the defence of their DFB Pokal title with a 3-1 victory over Energie Cottbus at Stadion der Freundschaft.
Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for the Bundesliga champions with his first goal of the season on 32 minutes. Kingsley Coman and Leon Goretzka rounded off the scoring for Bayern, before Berkan Taz netted a consolation for the hosts.
