DFB Pokal Wrap 12 August 2019

Energie Cottbus 1-3 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich began the defence of their DFB Pokal title with a 3-1 victory over Energie Cottbus at Stadion der Freundschaft.
  Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for the Bundesliga champions with his first goal of the season  on 32 minutes.   Kingsley Coman and Leon Goretzka rounded off the scoring for Bayern, before Berkan Taz netted a consolation for the hosts.
  Hallescher 3-5 Wolfsburg   Wolfsburg survived a scare in the first round after defeating Hallescher 5-3 in extra-time on Monday evening.
  Wout Weghorst, Yannick Gerhardt and William had their strikes cancelled out by Felix Drinkuth, Sebastian Mai and Mathias Fetsch, forcing the game into extra-time.   The Bundesliga outfit took control from then on as Robin Knoche and Josip Brekalo netted to seal Wolfburg's spot in the second round.  
Karlsrusher  2-0 Hannover    Hannover crashed out of the DFB Pokal after losing 2-0 to Karlsruher at the Wildparkstadion on Monday evening.
  Lukas Grozurek opened the scoring after 53 minutes before Marvin Wanitzek sealed the win eight minutes later.
  Hansa Rostock 0-1 Stuttgart    Hamadi Al Ghaddioui's first-half strike was enough to hand Stuttgart a 1-0 win over Hansa Rostcok on Monday evening.
