Bayern Munich 6-0 Schalke

Bayern Munich retained their top spot by a single point after hammering Schalke 6-0, with Serge Gnabry netting a brace at Allianz Arena.

Bayern made two changes to the side that beat Werder Bremen, as Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane were recalled in place of Sadio Mane and Ryan Gravenberch.

The Bavarians had a quick start as Kingsley Coman had a shot cleared off the line on ten minutes and Muller finally opened the scoring ten minutes later with a side-footed shot after a lay-ball by Sane.

The hosts doubled their lead on the half-hour mark thanks to a penalty converted by Joshua Kimmich after Jamal Musiala was elbowed in the box, with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) spotting the incident belatedly.

Gnabry took the game away from Schalke early in the second stanza with an unstoppable shot in the box after a cross by Joao Cancelo.

Gnabry made it 4-0 for Thomas Tuchel's charges on 65 minutes and got his brace after racing clear on goal and side-footed a shot past goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow.

The Bavarians were running riot with ten minutes to go as Mathys Tel made it 5-0 with a strike in the box after a square pass by Musiala, before Noussair Mazraoui added s sixth goal in stoppage time with a finish in the box after a flick on by Mane.

Borussia Dortmund 5-2 Borussia Mochengladbach

Borussia Dortmund remained just one point behind leaders Bayern Munich in second spot after a thumping 5-2 win over Borussia Monchengladbach courtesy of a brace by Sebastien Haller at Signal Iduna Park.

Donyell Malen gave Dortmund a perfect start within five minutes from the start after heading home a rebound in the box and Jude Bellingham doubled their lead on 18 minutes with a penalty down the middle after Haller was brought down in the box.

Haller put Edin Terzic's charges out of sight two minutes later with a delightful back-heel after he was setup by Malen and Haller made it 4-0 for BVB shortly after the half-hour mark and completed his brace with a strike in the box after a cross by Malen.

Ramy Bensebaini pulled a goal back for Gladbach with 15 minutes remaining from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the box by Giovanni Reyna and Lars Stindl got a second goal back for the visitors five minutes before time.

However, Giovanni Reyna made up for his earlier error, sealed the three points for Dortmund in stoppage time with a tap-in from a rebound in the box.

Union Berlin 4-2 Freiburg

Union Berlin consolidated their UEFA Champions League spot after thrashing rivals Freiburg 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

Kevin Behrens gave Union an early lead, Sheraldo Becker doubled their lead with nine minutes left of the first stanza and Becker gave the hosts a commanding 3-0 lead two minutes later and completed his brace.

Manuel Gulde reduced the deficit for Hertha shortly before the hour-mark and Vincenzo Grifo pulled a second goal back for the visitors.

However, Aissa Laidouni finally secured the three points for Union ten minutes before time.

Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 Mainz

Eintracht Frankfurt ended their ten-match winless run and revived their chances of a spot in the European tournaments after drubbing Mainz 3-0 at Deutsche Bank Park.

Daichi Kamada opened the scoring for Frankfurt on 18 minutes from the penalty spot and Buta gave them a two-goal cushion five minutes before the break.

Randal Kolo Muani put the game to bed for the home side on the hour-mark.

Bochum 3-2 Augsburg

Bochum boosted their chances of surviving relegation after edging Augsburg in a five-goal at Vonovia Ruhrstadion.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei gave Bochum the lead within two minutes from the off but Arne Maier got the equaliser for Augsburg on the half-hour mark.

An own goal by Jeffrey Gouweleeuw on the hour-mark restored the lead for the hosts and Anthony Losilla gave Bochum a two-goal cushion two minutes later from a deflected shot.

Kelvin Yeboah reduced the deficit for Augsburg five minutes before time.

Wolfsburg 2-1 Hoffenheim

Wolfsburg piled more misery on relegation-threatened Hoffenheim after a 2-1 win at Volkswagen Arena.

Jakub Kaminski opened the scoring for the Wolves in the first quarter of an hour and Luca Waldschmidt doubled their lead in the last quarter of an hour.

Hoffenheim got a goal back in stoppage time after Josuha Guilavogui scored into his own net but it was too little too late.
