Bayern Get Revenge On Freiburg For DFB Pokal Exit

Freiburg 0-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich cemented top spot in the Bundesliga with a 1-0 win over Freiburg  on Saturday evening.

The Bavarians were eager to restore some pride after being knocked out of the DFB Pokal by Freiburg on Tuesday evening.

One goal was all it took for Thomas Tuchel's charges to get the win, with Matthijs de Ligt finding the back of the net on 51 minutes.

Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Union Berlin

Borussia Dortmund bounced back from the defeat to Bayern Munich with a 2-1 win over Union Berlin.

The home side got off to the perfect start when Donyell Malen was on target for the second straight Bundesliga game after getting set up by Raphael Guerreiro on 28 minutes.

Kevin Behrens levelled matters for Berlin just after the hour mark, but a 79th minute strike from Youssoufa Moukoko guided Dortmund back to winning ways in the league.

Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 Frankfurt

Bayer Leverkusen kept their European ambitions alive with a 3-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Xabi Alonso's charges raced into a two-goal lead in the first half thanks to strikes from Amine Adli and Moussa Diaby.

Djibril Sow pulled one back for the visitors on 74 minutes, however Sardar Azmoun made the points safe in second-half stoppage time.

Mainz 2-2 Werder Bremen

Mainz and Werder Bremen settled for a share of the spoils after playing to a 2-2 draw at the MEWA Arena.

Ludovic Ajorque and Nelson Weiper netted for the home side, however a goal from Jens Stage and a stoppage-time strike from Niclas Füllkrug rescued a point for the Bremen.

Augsburg 1-3 Cologne

Cologne ended their six-game winless run in the league with a 3-1 victory away to Augsburg on Saturday.

Goals from Ellyes Skhiri, Eric Martel and Linton Maina got the win for the away side, while Ruben Vargas got Augsburgs' only goal.
