Stuttgart 1-2 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich reclaimed top spot in the Bundesliga after defeating Stuttgart 2-1 on Saturday night.

Bayern started the day in second spot after Borussia Dortmund defeated RB Leipzig on Friday evening.

However, the Bavarians got off to the perfect start when Matthijs de Ligt opened the scoring on 39 minutes, before Cameroonian star Eric Choupo-Moting doubled the lead on 62 minutes.

Juan Perera pulled one back for Stuttgart in the 88th minute, but the defending champions had done enough to hold on for maximum points.

Union Berlin 0-0 Cologne

Union Berlin were unable to bounce back from last week's defeat to Bayern after being held to a goalless draw by FC Cologne.

The draw leaves Berlin in third position, five points adrift of the league leaders.

Mainz 1-0 Hoffenheim

Mainz extended their winning run to four matches in the league by edging Hoffenheim at the Mewa Arena.

The home side found the breakthrough ten minutes before the halftime break when Leandro Barreiro got his first goal of the season.

Borussia Monchengladbach 0-0 Freiburg

Borussia Monchengladbach and Freiburg could not be separated after playing to a goalless draw at Borussia Park on Saturday afternoon.

Gladbach did finish the game with ten men after Algerian defender Amir Bensebaini picked up his second yellow in the 87th minute.

Bochum 0-2 Schalke

Schalke boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 victory away to Bochum on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors found the breakthrough on the stroke of halftime, with Manuel Riemann-Lorenzen deflecting the ball into his own net.

Marius Bulter sealed maximum points for the visitors with his fifth goal of the campaign in the 79th minute.

Augsburg 2-1 Werder Bremen

Augsburg got back to winning ways by defeating Werder Bremen at the WWK Arena.

The home side opened the scoring after five minutes through Dionn Beljo, before Jens Dalsgaard restored parity for Bremen in the 16th minute.

Augsburg would go on to get the second goal shortly after the halftime break, with Arne Maier getting his name on the score-sheet.
