Borussia Dortmund came from behind to thrash Augsburg 5-1 in their opening Bundesliga tie on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors went ahead through Florian Niederlechner inside the opening minutes before Paco Alcacer restored parity two minutes later.
Dortmund took control in the second half as Alcacer netted another while Jadon Sancho, Julian Brandt and Marco Reus rounded off the scoring.
Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 Paderborn
Bayer Leverkusen and Paderborn played out a five-goal thriller, with the hosts claiming the spoils at the BayArena. Leon Baily, Kai Havertz and Kevin Volland were on target for the home side while Streli Mamba and Sven Michel netted for the visitors. Maximilian Arnold and Wout Weghorst got the goals for the home side while Simon Terodde netted a late consolation for Koln. Weder Bremen 1-3 Fortuna Dusselforf Werder Bremen did not get the start they wanted as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Rouwen Hennings, Kenan Karaman and Kaan Ayhan secured the win for the visitors.
