RB Leipzig rallied from behind to force a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw against SC Freiburg in a top-half battle in Leipzig.

Full-back Manuel Gulde put the visiting side ahead towards the end of the first half. Meanwhile, Yussuf Poulsen got the home side all square in the final stage of the encounter.

The visitors thought they had secured the winner late on but the Video Assistant Referee ruled the goal out for an offside.

Vfl Wolfsburg restarted action with a 2-1 win away over FC Augsburg at the WWK Arena, keeping their slim European hopes alive.

Renato Steffen's first-half strike right before halftime gave the visitors a solid footing; however an own-goal from John Brooks following the interval pegged the side back.

The visitors needed a late finish from striker Daniel Ginczek to get out of jail and snap a two-match winless run prior to the lengthy break.

Fortuna Dusseldorf were held to a goalless draw against fellow strugglers and bottom-placed Paderborn.

Fortuna stay two spots off the bottom-two following the result, as Paderborn remain at the bottom with just four wins all season long.

Hertha Berlin overturned a goalless first half to thump Hoffenheim 3-0 at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim.

An own-goal from Kevin Akpoguma shortly after the break gave Hertha the lead before Vedad Ibisevic joined the party with the second followed by Matheus Cunha with the third.

Borussia Monchengladbach moved up to third in the Bundesliga after claiming a 3-1 victory away to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The hosts raced into a two-goal in the opening 10 minutes through Alassane Pléa and Marcus Thuram.

Rami Bensebaini converted from the penalty spot to secure Gladbach's third goal before Andre Silva bagged Frankfurt's consolation on 81 minutes.
