Bundesliga Wrap 03 November 2019

Fortuna Dusseldorf returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 victory over FC Cologne at home in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

A penalty from Rouwen Hennings inside the 38 minutes gave the host the breakthrough before Erik Thommy went and made the points safe with a good finish after 61 minutes.

The result push the home side up to 13th place on the league standings, whilst Cologne remain in an unwarranted second-bottom position.

Schalke leaped into the top six after coming from behind twice to edge FC Augsburg 3-2 in an entertaining clash at the WWK Arena.

Augsburg hit the breakthrough courtesy of Daniel Baier on 38 minutes before an own-goal from Stephane Lichtsteiner brought the match all square at the break.

Alfred Finnbogason fired the hosts back ahead from the spot on 60 minutes, but Ozan Kabak restored parity for the visitors 11 minutes later inviting Amine Harit to the winner with eight minutes to go.
