Jurgen Klinsmann's search for his first win as Hertha Berlin manager continues after his side threw away a two-goal lead at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Friday evening.
Klinsmann made four changes from his first match in charge, with Marvin Plattenhardt, Lukas Klunter, Ondrej Duda and Marko Grujic coming to the fold. Meanwhile, Eintracht boss Adi Hutter opted for three changes from the defeat to Mainz, as Makoto Hasebe, Gelson Fernandes and Andre Silva earned starting berths.
The sides were creating chances in the early stages but it was the visitors who drew first blood on the half-hour mark courtesy of a strike by Dodi Lukebakio against the run of play.
Hutter's troops thought they had found the equaliser with seven minutes remaining of the first stanza after Daichi Kamada scored but the goal was chalked by the Video Assistant Referee Referee (VAR).
Hertha had a great start in the second stanza as they found a two-goal cushion just after the hour-mark thanks to Grujic who struck home from close range after a set-piece situation.
Eintracht worked their way back to the game as Martin Hinteregger pulled a goal back two minutes after going two goals behind with a header from close range from a corner.
Hinteregger turned provider of the equaliser in the last four minutes to setup Sebastian Rode, who found the back of the net from the six-yard box to salvage a point for the home side.
