Result Bayern Munich 3-3 RB Leipzig
Date: 05 December 2020
Venue: Allianz Arena
Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig played to a six-goal thriller in their top-of-the-table Bundesliga clash on Saturday night.
After resting a few players against Atletico Maddrid in the UEFA Champions League, Hans Flick recalled the tried and tested while Leroy Sane also got a start ahead of Serge Gnarby.
While Bayern were the favourites, it was Leipzig who opened the scoring in the 19th minute Christopher Nkunku collected pass from Emil Forsberg before calmly slotting past the advancing Manuel Neuer.
It got worse for Bayern on 25 minutes when Javi Martinez was forced off with an injury and replaced by Jamal Musiala. However, the change worked in Bayern's favour as Musiala restored parity two minutes later with a neat finish into the bottom corner after being picked out by Kingsley Coman.
The turnaround was complete for Bayern on 34 minutes when Coman picked up his second assist by rolling a pass to Thomas Muller, who found the back of the net with a neat finish.
However, the sides went into the break all square after Justin Kluivert equalised for the visitors with a neat finish past Neuer from Amadou Haidara's delightful pass.
The pendulum swung once again in the early stages of the second half, with Forsberg getting on the scoresheet to go along with his assist to put the visitors ahead in the 48th minute.
However, Bayern had to wait until the 75th minute for the equaliser when Muller popped up in the box to send a header past Peter Gulasci from Koman's cross.
Both sides pushed for a late winner in the second half, but neither were able to carve out a clear-cut chance as the spoils were shared on the night.
