The Bundesliga will be the first of Europe's top leagues to return after being given the green light to do so by German government.

The German top flight was halted on 13 March due to the coronavirus, but will now return before the end of May under strict health regulations.
The state ministers and chancellor Angela Merkel confirmed on Wednesday that games behind closed doors will be allowed from the second half of May onwards, Deutsch Presse Agentur confirmed.

The Deutsche Fussball Liga will meet with the clubs on Thursday to discuss the exact dates and plans to return.
Potential dates are the 16 or 23 May, with clubs set to go in a quarantine training camp before games can resume.
Bundesliga clubs have returned to training over the last few weeks and nine match rounds are still outstanding.
Bayern currently lead the table by four points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, but both will still face each other.

The finalisation of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) will also be discussed, with semi-finals and final still to be played.
