With Robert Lewandowski having recently made his move to Barcelona, a Bayern Munich legend has insisted that the club are happy after losing the Polish striker to the Blaugrana.

Dietmar Hamann, who is an academy product of the Bavarian giants, recently analysed the transfer window of the reigning Bundesliga champions with a particular focus on Lewandowski.
The former Liverpool midfielder insisted that, while losing the iconic Pole to the Catalan giants may not have been ideal, it was in the best interests of Die Roten long-term.
"Of course, he leaves a gap, because he has scored between 30 and 50 goals in all competitions on average. Those are hard numbers to come by," he told Sky Sports.
"I think they are happy that he is gone. He started this whole whirlwind of signings and made some statements.
"It must be said that Bayern behaved very well and very professionally. Lewandowski did the biggest favor with his statements.
"Without them, they probably never would have been able to generate the price they did.
"Disgusting as his departure is, Lewandowski did Bayern a huge favor."
Despite losing Lewandowski, who last season found the back of the net 50 times for the German outfit, the Bundesliga champions have perhaps found the ideal replacement in newly crowned CAF Men's African Player of the Year Sadio Mane.
The Senegal international was vital in Liverpool's pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple towards the end of the 2021/22 campaign, and following his arrival at the Allianz Arena, Hamann is impressed with the acquisition.
Bayern Chief: Why We Won't Sign Ronaldo
"He [Sadio Mane] is the first world star to really reach the Bundesliga," he said.
"Many have become world stars in the Bundesliga, like Raul, but Mane, at 30 years old, is really at his best."
