Former Manchester United star Patrice Evra has lashed out at the Ballon d'Or organisers after Senegal and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was snubbed for the Yashin Trophy.

Mendy helped the Blues secure their second UEFA Champions League title last season, and helped Senegal finish top of their 2020 FIFA World Cup qualifying group.
However, France Football's top goalkeeper award went to Italian shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma after his heroics at the UEFA European Championship, after which he was named Player of the Tournament.
Evra could not hide his disappointment with Mendy's snub, and feels the awards show no respect to the African continent.
"Also the goalkeeper... what about Edouard Mendy?" said, as per The Sun.
"You know, but of course, African Cup, we are the monkeys so no one respects this competition.
"We are the only competition where you have to leave your club, leave for three weeks and play that cup because in Africa we always have a little space.
"But things will change, things will change."
