Real Madrid star Luka Modric deserves to win the next Ballon d'Or ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah, according to a Los Blancos teammate.

Modric has enjoyed a fruitful 2018, having helped Los Blancos lift a third successive UEFA Champions League title, while he also led Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final.
The Croatian has already beaten Cristiano Ronaldo to the UEFA Men's Player of the Year award, and Isco feels his teammate is fully deserving of the Ballon d'Or too.
"Modric gives us a lot every game," the Spain playmaker told Movistar after Juventus' 2-0 win over Valencia in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
"He's fundamental for us. Hopefully we can all be at his level.
"He deserves the Ballon d'Or, he's a unique player."
