FIFA announced the official 2018 World Team of the Year on Monday, after professional players from 65 nations selected their World XI. Here, exclusively, is the World XI selected by players in South Africa.

Football's world governing body once again collaborated with the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) to get 25 000 professional players to vote for their peers.
The official 2018 World XI was announced on Monday, and Soccer Laduma subsequently contacted FIFPro for the selections made by Mzansi's professional players.
The answer came back swiftly, revealing that 361 players from South Africa voted. This time around, the SA version only differs in one position from the official World XI, with our players choosing FC Barcelona's 2018 World Cup winner Samuel Umtiti over the much-criticised inclusion of Dani Alves.
Longstanding rivals Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who both failed to attend the official ceremony, were selected for a record-breaking 12th time, while Sergio Ramos has been in the past nine World XIs.
The Best Men's Player of 2018, Luka Modric, received the most votes worldwide, having been selected by 20 473 of the 25 000 participating footballers, followed by Marcelo and Ronaldo.

Kylian Mbappe became the youngest player to be selected for the World XI, beating previous record holder Messi, while David de Gea was the only Manchester United player to make the team.
