With the FIFA World XI being named on Monday night, today we take a look at the 10 Brazilian superstars who have been selected for the team since 2005!

FIFPro has invited professional footballers from across the globe to vote for the best men's team each year since 2005, and, unsurprisingly for many, every year has seen at least one Brazilian being selected for the side.

The first ever World XI 12 years ago featured three high-profile Brazilians in the form of former AC Milan duo Dida and Cafu, and former FC Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho.

While Dida and Cafu were named in the dream team just once each, Ronaldinho appeared in the side a total of three times, as did former FIFA Ballon d'Or winner Kaka, who was named in the team in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Former Blaugrana defender Dani Alves was the only Selecao man named in the 2009 World XI, and he has since gone on to be selected for the team a total of seven times, which is the record for any Brazilian player. Since his first entry, Alves has been named in the XI in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

In 2010, defenders Lucio and Maicon were both named in the FIFPro team's defence, while left back Marcelo was included for the first time in 2012, although he has since featured another three times.

FIFA Announce 2017 World Team Of The Year

Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has made the side on three occasions, in 2013, 2014 and 2015, while his new club teammate Neymar has been voted into the team twice, with his first appearance coming in 2015 and his second this year.

Do you think anyone will break Alves' record? Let us know in the comments section below.
