What Jose Mourinho Once Called Potential Pitso Mosimane Replacement

With a shock report suggesting that Pitso Mosimane could be replaced at Al Ahly, what Jose Mourinho once angrily called the man who is said to have been lined up as the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns manager's successor in Egypt has been revealed.

Decision Made On African Star Who Scored Deliberate Own Goals

It was claimed earlier this week that Al Ahly could replace the South African tactician with former Zamalek head coach Jesualdo Ferreira, who has had a long career in management.

Per KingFut, rumours in Portugal suggest that the veteran boss has even agreed terms with the Red Devils, although this does appear unlikely considering the success Mosimane has enjoyed since his arrival in Egypt.

Who is Ferreira?

The 75-year-old has worked in football management since 1981, for many different clubs around the world, including Benfica.

In 2002, Ferreira was an assistant manager at Benfica when Mourinho was reportedly offered the first-team job. The "Special One", according to Sky Sports, refused the opportunity because he did not want to work with the assistant.

The club was said to have insisted that Ferreira remained on the coaching staff, with the then-assistant being a former teacher of Mourinho's at the Lisbon Superior Institute for Physical Education in the 1980s.

Three years later, things seemed to become uglier when Mourinho said, as per Portuguese newspaper Record: "One is a coach with a 30-year career, the other with a three-year one. The one with 30 years has never won anything. The one with three years has won a lot.

"The one who has coached for 30 years has an enormous career. The one with three years has a small career. The one with a 30-year career will be forgotten when he ends it. The one with three could end it right now and he could never be erased from history.

"This could be the story of a donkey who worked for 30 years but never became a horse."

Mourinho and Ferreira have reportedly since resolved their dispute all those years ago, while the Al Ahly-linked boss has since claimed 12 trophies as a manager, including three Primeira Ligas with Porto, a club previously coached by Mourinho.

In the 2014/15 season, he celebrated winning the Egyptian Premier League title and Egypt Cup with Zamalek.
